A sport that connects people

Alpine skiing has a unique ability to bring people together. Whether it's 15.000 people at the Alpine World Ski Championships or the family on a relaxing day of skiing, the white-covered mountain world offers space for community and excitement. It's moments of freedom and togetherness that make this sport so special. Beginners and professionals, young and old, all experience the magic of skiing in their own way.

We joined the kids of the ski association Bezirk Schwaz on a training day and chat about the beginnings of their journey in alpine skiing:

Small stepsbig goals

Every success story has an unremarkable beginning. The likes of Marco Odermatt and Mikaela Shiffrin are far more than mere title-holders. They are role models who show that dreams can become reality. Their journey began mostly on small slopes, in local ski resorts, with tiny skis at their feet and supportive parents by their side. From a young age, they felt the magic of the snow and developed the enthusiasm that made them the best in the world. Those who make it to the top know that it takes more than talent: tireless effort, discipline and an irrepressible passion for ski racing are the prerequisites. But it is always the spark of a big dream that ignites the flame and guides the long way.
