OPENING CEREMONY

When sport meets show Even before the race, the World Ski Championships were ushered in with a spectacular opening ceremony under the motto "Sport meets show." The two main protagonists are Laurenz and Romy, a girl and boy from the Glemmtal, who want to share their enthusiasm for skiing with the whole world during the opening ceremony. Their snow globe symbolises the dream of becoming world-class skiers. The two children discover this magical snow globe on the windowsill in a story that unfolds digitally on the stadium's content towers. A musical by the Salzburg State Theatre, "Skiverliebt - Two Boards That Mean the World," brings the dream to life for the first time. On the occasion of the 2025 State World Ski Championships, the Salzburg State Theatre will be showcasing the excellence of skiing. Timotheus Hollweg and Anna Rosa Döller perform live, supported by the ensemble of the Salzburger Landestheater.

The team parallel race at the Zwölferkogel was a successful prelude to the 11 race days in Saalbach Hinterglemm, which once again underlined the fascination of skiing. With high-class duels, exciting decisions and a rousing supporting programme, the Ski World Championship already offered numerous unforgettable moments - and the anticipation for the upcoming competitions continues to grow!
