PURE PASSION FOR WINTER SPORTS: 600 KIDS AT THE SKI AUSTRIA KINDER SCHNEE TAG 2025

What a day! Glorious sunshine, perfect snow, and endless fun – this sums up the Ski Austria Kinder Schnee Tag 2025 in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. Around 600 elementary school children from the Salzburg region enjoyed a winter sports festival they won’t soon forget.

An Action Wonderland Under Blue Skies

At the heart of the action-packed venue, close to the impressive World Championship finish stadium, the children were treated to a colorful program. Whether ski jumping, slalom, freeskiing, or snowboarding – the young winter sports enthusiasts gave it their all. Particularly popular were the Youngstars Biathlon, snowball target throw, and snow relay race. For those who preferred activities off the skis, there were exciting alternatives like boccia, volleyball, spikeball, and soccer. Boredom? Not a chance!

An Event That Moves

“There’s probably no better place for a ‘Kinder Schnee Tag’ than Saalbach,” said an enthusiastic Tomas Woldrich, the main organizer. “The joy and enthusiasm of the kids show just how important events like these are to spark a love for winter sports.” The event wasn’t just about fun and action, though; learning and safety also took center stage. The ski simulator got even beginners ready for the slopes, and the avalanche search and rescue station provided valuable insights into alpine safety.

Meet the Stars Up Close

A highlight for many kids was meeting famous winter sports athletes. World Championship ambassador and three-time Olympic champion Matthias Mayer was thrilled: “Seeing the kids’ joy in winter sports is priceless. Fresh air and exercise will play an increasingly important role in the future.” Ski Austria stars Stefan Brennsteiner and Katharina Liensberger also joined in, actively participating with the kids. “It’s so rewarding to witness the children’s excitement firsthand,” said Liensberger with a smile.

Creative Fun and Hot Soup

In addition to athletic challenges, creative stations like karaoke and snow dancing kept the atmosphere lively. SPAR Natur*pur provided the young athletes with warming soup, muesli, and hot drinks – the perfect energy boost for a long day in the snow.

A Day to Remember

The Ski Austria Kinder Schnee Tag 2025 was more than just a sports event – it was a celebration of joy, movement, and community. The beaming faces and unforgettable moments proved that winter sports are alive and well. A big thank you to all the organizers, helpers, and, of course, the young athletes who made this day so special. We’re already looking forward to next year!
