Event ticket = Public transport pass in the province of Salzburg
The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships Saalbach 2025 are just around the corner, and excitement is building as we count down to this spectacular event at the Zwölferkogel. To ensure your journey is as relaxed and stress-free as possible, we’ve partnered with the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) and Salzburger Verkehrsverbund (SVV) to create a seamless and sustainable mobility concept.
Here’s the best part for fans: Your ticket to the Ski World Champs doubles as your travel pass for public transport across the province of Salzburg. Starting six hours before the races, you can use buses and trains free of charge to travel to Saalbach Hinterglemm and the Fan Mile. Convenient, comfortable, and eco-friendly!
To accommodate the high number of spectators, we’ve significantly expanded public transport in partnership with our mobility providers ÖBB and SVV. For example, Line 680, which connects Zell am See, Maishofen, and Saalbach-Hinterglemm, will run every 30 minutes instead of hourly. Check the current schedule here. Additionally, a dedicated shuttle service will run frequently from Maishofen station directly to the Hinterglemm bus terminal, where the Fan Mile starts. The local ski bus between Saalbach and Hinterglemm will also operate every 10 minutes.
The ÖBB is also stepping up its game: During the peak of the World Championships – from February 06 to 16, 2025 – more than 8,400 additional seats will be provided. Special trains will connect Vienna with Maishofen, offering fans across Austria an easy and fast way to reach the event. Check the updated schedule here for details. The S3 line from Salzburg to Maishofen will also run every 30 minutes.
Forget about parking – you won’t need it! With no parking facilities available for World Champs visitors in the Glemmtal, public transport is your best option
