Bring Kids to Snow

1.200 Kids at the World Championship

Today the Bring Kids to Snow project in Saalbach 2025 experienced its first big highlight: 1,200 children from the region had the unique opportunity to experience the women's World Cup Super-G up close and for free. Many of them are enthusiastic young skiers themselves and dream of the big ski stage.

Bright children's eyes and an unforgettable experience

The enthusiasm was palpable everywhere - bright sunshine, cheering school classes and a rousing atmosphere made this day a special experience. The ski middle school from Saalfelden on the Steinernen Meer provided the best atmosphere: the pupils of teacher Tim Hartl cheered, danced and celebrated together with DJ Tommik as well as presenters Pascal Kitzmüller and Karl Weixelbaumer, better known as 2:tages:bart.

"A tremendous experience for the kids," Hartl said of the opportunity to be part of the World Cup. It was especially impressive for the kids to see their great role models up close.

Future dreams and goose bumps

For the children of the Maishofen Primary School, this day was also very special. "We have students who have applied for secondary schools in the area of Alpine skiing," said school director Christian Schreiner. For Jonas (9 years old), it was a goose bump moment: "My grandfather is also working at the World Cup - up at the start!" He looked up with pride and cheered with the athletes.

Austrian victory as an absolute highlight

The highlight of the day? The victory of Stephanie Venier! Jonas and countless other children celebrated enthusiastically in the finish area as the Austrian sensationally won. The mood is good. I'm still hoping for a win by an Austrian. Which one? I don't care!" said Jonas before the race - and his wish was granted. It's a moment that will be remembered: The 31-year-old winner not only won the race, but also the hearts of over a thousand children. Perhaps some young athletes will follow in their footsteps on the piste in the future.

Musical, emotions and a perfect ending

After the race, however, the Kids Day was far from over. The afternoon continued on the fan mile - and another highlight was on the way: Skiverliebt, a musical by the Salzburger Landestheater, was presented by the Volksschule Saalbach. More than 100 students stood on the stage and charmed the audience with their performance. Musical performer Thomas Wegscheider was fascinated: "You just have to take the local children with you at such an event, and this was done perfectly!" The students had been rehearsing for half a year under the guidance of their theatre teacher - and the applause proved: it was worth it.

A day full of emotions, sporting enthusiasm and bright children's eyes - that's what Bring Kids to Snow is all about. An experience that will surely live long after!
